Every year, the Statistics Department awards several scholarships and awards to students who display exceptional skills and outstanding performance.
Maurice Davies Award
The Maurice Davies Award is awarded to a student who shows integrated excellence across all aspects of statistics. Maurice Davies was one of the founding members of ASA Colorado-Wyoming Chapter. Each year, chapter recognizes one outstanding undergraduate student in statistics from each university in Colorado-Wyoming area. Recognition includes certificate and student ASA membership. It is the department’s most prestigious award.

Undergraduate Early Academic Achievement Award:
This award is given to a promising student early in their academic career. Students enrolled in STAT342 before their senior year are eligible.

Undergraduate Academic Achievement Award
This award is given to a student with high academic performance in Statistics courses. Students that have taken or are currently enrolled in STAT430 are eligible.

Undergraduate Excellence in Research Award
This award is given to an outstanding undergraduate researcher based on faculty nominations.

Department Undergraduate Distinguished Service Award
This award recognizes undergraduate students who step up in ways that are not otherwise recognized. Examples might include outreach activities like Probability Casino Night, Ram Welcome, etc. This award is nominated by faculty and staff.
